What is your purpose in life?

Today's society is not an easy place to live. Just look at the fear, distrust, confusion, disorientation surrounding us -- a fearsome reality.

What then is our purpose in this quagmire?

Being blunt -- there is no hope for the family politically! Our legislators have failed our children, our society and maybe our country.

The solutions:

1. Hold your legislator accountable by reading the report card from the Family Foundation organization in Richmond, Virginia that tracks all votes of our legislators. Vote for God fearing individuals, not God tearing politicians.

2. Parents must teach their children the Word of God from Scriptures - parent's primary responsibility according to Scripture.

Scriptures direct parents the one and only one responsibility for their children: TEACH.

How are you doing thus far?

WOMEN are to subject themselves in love to their husbands and to focus primarily on raising children.
MEN are to sacrifice themselves and provide for the caring of their wives and children.

Reality Checks:

1. Parents and children have fallen into consumptive materialism.
Parents in America spend more money on toys than the combined total of 60 plus nations' GNP.
For children, this makes them more indulging and self-centered.

2. Today's children are over-exposed to TV. They watch on an average 30 hours of TV per week. Over a 18 year period, children see more than 22,000 commercials, most of that is anti-God messages and lifestyle.
Children today see more "sin" in a month on TV than grandparents see in their lifetime. No wonder children are more difficult to discipline today.
The result is 7 to 14 million young adults become alcoholics and drug dependent.

The Solution: It is never to late to teach your children to honor and obey their parents - this is in accordance to Scripture. Teach your children the Word of God from Scriptures.

Remember: There is no hope for the family politicially. The success of raising children is based on Scriptures.

To Be Continued ...

Children are your only possessions that you can take to heaven.

Put your faith in Scripture.
The Bible is God's word, written by men but directed and inspired by God.
It is the complete and only authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
The Bible provides absolute truths.
People provide relative truths.
Thus, you are better off seeking the absolute truth from the Bible.
Read the Bible daily to develop the Holy Spirit within you.
Then and only then can you develop a sense of mental peace.
Listen to the voice within.
That voice becomes stronger when you begin to read the Bible daily.

Thinking Straight in a Crooked World
When you seek truth from the Bible, you develop discernment in all things, that is,
the power to tell the good from the bad,
the genuine from the counterfeit,
and to be inclined to prefer the good and the genuine over the bad and the counterfeit.
Remember, we are human first, subject to sinful thoughts and emotions. That is our foundation.
But, through the Grace of God, we can overcome those tendencies and become a better person.
That power is through Scriptures. Read them daily.
Read the Bible as your defense for the day.

REALITY CHECK:
We go to church, listen to the minister preach, and go home. Nothing more. That's what many Christians do now.
First it was in dingy, dirty theaters. Then, convenience stores. Then, grocery stores. Then on television. Now it is in the homes of millions via the Internet. It is called pornography.
We go to church, listen to the minister preach, and then go home. Nothing more.
They call it no-fault. Why should we blame anyone when something so tragic happens. Haven't the couple already suffered enought? Half of the marriages in America end this way. The children suffer. The family broke down. And we call it divorce.
We go to church, listen to the minister preach, and then go home. Nothing more.
At one time, it was a perversion. We kept it secret. We secured help and hope for those who practiced it. Now it is praised. We have parades celebrating it, and elected officials give it their blessing. Now it is endowed with special privileges and proted by special laws. Even some Christian leaders and denominations priase it. It is called homosexuality.
Not long ago, Chirstians were the good guys. But now any positive image of Christians in movies or on TV is gone. We are now depicted as the bad guys - greedy, narrow-minded hypocrites. The teacher cannot have a Bible on the desk. We don't have Christmas and Easter holidays - just winter and spring break. We can't pray in school, but can use foul language. It's call being tolerant.
Where are the Christians, where are the pastors?
Involvement has been replaced with apathy.
But, many say: don't blame me. I didn't do anything. I go to church, the minister preaches, I go home. That's what Christians do now.
End the practise of doing nothing. Read Scripture for daily inspiration. Pray for our pastors to become more pro-active and for our community and nation.
What you hear inside the church is not meant to stay there. Motivate your pastor and stand beside him for support.
Communities need pastors in the center of City Hall.
